What will their memories be?
Some of you know that our family was an Air Force family for 10 years. During that time, I think I counted that we’d moved/lived in 14 different homes. Some homes were in the same towns, but I’m counting a move as any time I had to put our stuff in boxes and haul it somewhere else to be unpacked. :o)
Well, this week, I decided it was high time to go through some of the “mystery” boxes that seem to have traveled with us everywhere and, yet, remained virtually untouched.
Family Rules Canvas, the Mrs. Homeschool Way
I have to confess that I've been quite envious of all these posts I've seen by other moms who've made "Family Rules" canvases. (Here are some to whet your appetite: The Pleated Poppy, Fingerprints on the Fridge, Tater Tots and Jello)
But, being who I am, I had to do things a bit differently. It doesn't help that I have NO scrapbook supplies left since I sold them all for too little $$ at a yard sale before our big move south. No, I don't regret getting rid of that stuff, but I have mourned the loss of not being able to get creative with my hands in all that paper.
Top 5 Ways I Save Time Homeschooling
If there's one thing we can always spend recklessly and never get back, it is our time. As a parent, doesn't it seem like just YESTERDAY that you held that teen as a newborn in your arms OR does it seem like just last week when you got the call that the adoption papers were finalized? Gosh, if I spend too much time dwelling on how fast the years have gone, I'll end up a basket case!
Time is SO precious, yet it is something we handle very lightly, losing minutes here and there. So, I thought about some ways I try to save time homeschooling.
The burden of “stuff”
There are times when my mind is overflowing with ideas of what to write on my blog. And there are other times when I wait on the Lord to write because I know it’s not light reading.
This article is something that has actually been slowly developing, stewing, simmering for a few weeks now. I pray that you receive it in the way I intended for it to be received…
Serious couponing in action
I know it seems odd for a homeschool mom to be posting about her grocery shopping, but I just HAD to…just HAD to.
I will admit that to prepare for this BIG shopping trip, it took me a good 2 hours, but mostly because my original list was terrible and didn't include everything I wanted to get on this trip. But when all was said and done, I walked away amazed with a trunk full of food…although, do you really call the back part of a minivan a trunk? Not sure about that one.
