I like Pinterest and am NOT afraid to say it!

This post, titled Your Children Want YOU!, has gone viral, but am I the only one that looks at these pins on Pinterest and DOES NOT feel the way the author does?  I don't look at all these pins and think badly of myself.  I KNOW I'm not superwoman and don't intend to be.  I post things I like, not because I feel like I need to do them all to have a sense of worth, but because I just like them.

Merry Christmas!

This photo was taken on the steps of our rental house on a recent trip to Granada, Nicaragua. From our family to yours, we wish you a VERY Merry Christmas and a Happy 2012!

Can you believe that a new year is only a week away?

This time last year, our family had NO idea we'd be where we are, both physically and spiritually.

God has given us so many experiences to make us grow this year, not in faith (because our faith is from Him and is constant), but in our knowledge and TRUST in Him.

Can a Christian Be Mentally Ill? Absolutely!

Just a quick post today because this is a topic that is not addressed well, if at all, in most Christian churches and circles.  My friend, Andrea Cockrum, shares her perspective on the topic in a great video blog post here:

Video about Christian Community and Mental Illness

I understand why some people may think that it is just not possible for Christians to have a mental illness.  They look to the KJV of the Bible in 2 Timothy 1:7 that says, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

Dream BIG and Expect Results

If you're not following along with my craziness on Facebook, you may not know that our family has a HUGE announcement.  Not "huge" like a new baby is a huge announcement, but a pretty big one.

Our family of 7 has undertaken what most people would consider an impossible notion.  Many likely think we're out of our minds.  Some would love to do the same, but think they can't.

So what is it?

We have realized a long time dream and have moved to another country…Costa Rica!

Betcha weren't ready for that, were ya?

Parenting Advice from a Child

I saw this posted on Facebook and KNEW I wanted to find a permanent space to put this.  Whether you have little ones at home or not, print this out, post it somewhere or share it with a friend.  This is something I need to remind myself of often.

Don't spoil me. I know quite well that I ought not to have asked for.. I"m testing you.

Don't be afraid to be firm with me. I prefer it…. it makes me feel more secure.
