About Me
Hi…I'm Susan and I'll be your wacky tour guide for this adventure of living the Multiple Revenue Streams Homeschool life. For your safety, please keep your sanity inside your vehicle at all times. In the event of an emergency, please place the reality mask on yourself first and THEN assist those around you… ;o)
I am the sometimes frazzled, but usually content wife of one and momma of five children. They range from 13 years old on down to 3…4 princesses and one "little prince". I try not to take life too seriously most of the time, but life has a way of sneaking up on me and tripping me up when I least expect it!
When it comes to "soft focus" images of homeschooling, marriage and faith, I like to leave those for the dreamers and people who are more focused on "keeping up appearances" than adopt them into my family. Life is too short and too precious to be constantly concerned with what other people think. Those who know me best understand that I do NOT struggle with saying "NO!" to anything I don't feel reflects my gifts or to things that will over commit my family's most precious asset: our time!
I have a husband to whom I am generally submissive to (just being real here…I do try) and a God who knows my heart and my motives. NOTHING I do is of my own "goodness" and I am ok with that! :o)
As far as my entrepreneurial mind, I've always been this way…at least, as best as I can remember. In elementary school, a friend and I started a business selling custom made friendship bracelets. We had a color sample card we made of all the colors of embroidery floss available and priced them based on the number of strands. We also sold friendship pins, although through extensive market testing and analysis, we discovered they didn't sell as well. :o)
As a child, I had ALWAYS wanted to do a lemonade stand or a yard sale, but my mom, perhaps in her wisdom of knowing how involved those get, never let me. So…one Saturday, when I was 16 or 17, I loaded up all my junk in my 1981 VW Scirocco, along with the junk of my 2 younger siblings, and we headed to the local flea market, rented a booth in the BLAZING Florida sun and sold stuff!
As a mom, my entrepreneurial bug bit me again when my first daughter was just 2 months old and I started selling on eBay. That was in October of 1998 and I've been making money on the internet in some way, shape or form ever since. When I began homeschooling, it never occurred to me to stop doing what I had always done…finding creative ways to make an income. Now, my passion is to help other homeschool families tap into the desires and talents they have to create a Multiple Revenue Stream family. No previous experience required.
