Passing the torch

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven"  Ecclesiastes 3:1

Due to some new business endeavors, namely a new family travel magazine for iPad, I am prayerfully considering selling mrshomeschool.com and everything that goes along with it (Facebook page, entire website with 109 posts and over 112 comments and I will email my mailing list [over 300 people] telling them about the new ownership and pointing them to any new email list sign up form).

I have been the caretaker and owner of this site since October of 2009.  I have LOVED interacting with homeschoolers and entrepreneurs from all over including the US, South Africa, Finland, Germany, Canada, the UK, Philippines, India, Mexico and beyond.  I've been humbled that ANYONE would actually read what I write, let alone take the time to respond, either in agreement or respectful disagreement. :)

Because I truly appreciate the support of everyone on my mailing list, Facebook page and just folks that stop by, I want to be sure the person who takes over being "Mrs. Homeschool" is someone who not only LOVES homeschooling, but has a heart for encouraging others.

Because I think it's a little tacky to post an asking price right here on the site, I will be accepting serious offers through the end of the month (July 2012).  For a "ball park" of what I am looking for, please consider that MrsHomeschool.com is a "premium" domain, one that is easy to share and spell.  Almost 64% of the site visitors are first time visitors, which astounds me.  And even with very little consistent blogging, the site got almost 8500 pageviews in the past year or so, with September being our "peak" month.  So there is plenty of time to transfer everything and have your site up and running before the "peak" time.  I won't necessarily be accepting the biggest offer, but the offer that "fits" the brand Mrs. Homeschool best.

There are SO many ways you could optimize this site and monetize it, but I truly just don't have the time to do it anymore.  Ideally, I think creating your own products and curriculum and showcasing affiliate offers would be the ideal way to use this site.

If you have any questions or would like to make a serious inquiry or offer, please send an email to support(at)mrshomeschool.com

Thank you and I look forward to passing the torch of MrsHomeschool to another very deserving homeschool mom!

Susan, I have enjoyed reading your posts. Wish you well in your new endeavor. Please let us (your readers) know if you begin a different blog; it will be interesting to get acquainted with your replacement, too.
